Natural treatments
Is working out leaving your joints stiff and muscles sore? Then trying a natural pre-workout essential-oil rub could help. Blend together the following ingredients:
  • 4 drops pine essence
  • 3 drops rosemary essence
  • 1 drop black pepper essence
  • 20 ml sweet almond oil
Rub the mixture vigorously into the legs starting on the lower leg and working upwards. This will stimulate circulation, warm the muscles and boost lymphatic drainage thereby preventing toxin build-up. Keep the oil no more than two months in a dark, cool place.

Strains can also be treated naturally with oils. Soak a muslin cloth in iced water with a drop of peppermint oil in and put the cloth on the sore spot repeating for 20 minutes. A few drops of lavender oil rubbed into the strain area helps promote healing, eases the pain and reduces the bruising.
