It's good to laugh. In fact according to recent research laughter is
one of the best medicines. Over a year, two groups of heart attack survivors
were told what they could watch on TV. The first group watched anything
including a comedy video of their choice for 30 minutes every day. The second
group were not allowed to watch anything funny at all. At the end of the year
only two people from the first group compared to ten from the second group
suffered a further heart attack.
This is the first study of its kind
and whilst these are small numbers it does suggest that laughter may help
reduce heart attack risks. It appears that having a good laugh helps restore
the neurotransmitters that help you cope with stress. So don't get mad
get happy and laugh!
