Quicken the Pulse

Whether it’s for Valentines Day, Birthdays or just a special gift, one way to quicken your lover’s pulse is to give the right present – dark creamy chocolate.

After munching a 3 ½ ounce bar of extra dark chocolate ultrasound scans revealed better blood floor for the next 3 hours in the 16 volunteers that took the test.

Dark chocolate contains substances known as polyphenol flavonoids that are the experts say, heart healthy, Research has revealed that the function of the endothelium, a layer of cells in the arteries, including those in the heart, are improved when eating dark chocolate.

This improvement prevents plaque build up and protects against high blood pressure. Other research has suggested that eating 3 ounce of dark chocolate per day could lower blood pressure.

The downside of course, is that you can’t eat all you want.

Remember chocolate is high in fat and sugar content and too much could lead to excess pounds. Not a good thing for the heart.
