When you hear someone say I really need a good nights sleep, they’re most probably right, not lazy.
Our bodies do most repair work to their selves while we sleep. The pineal gland is what carries out a large part of this work. The pineal gland which is in charge of all healing and energy systems is activated when we are in a true deep sleep.
The gland is activated when the circadian rhythm (natural rate at which our bodies and mind should function) slows and calms to a gentle lull, a deep state of sleep should follow causing the activation of the gland.
Lack of sleep is a major contribution to generally feeling dreadful, irritable and difficult to be around. Not enough sleep and you become weak due to your immune system being sluggish, and practically running on empty.
When your body or mind is telling you to lie down for five minutes if possible listen to it, it will ask when it needs sleep to restore and heal itself. It is not a sin or evil to set aside time to relax your mind and body, sleep is just the remedy.
It would not kill us to have a couple of early nights each week in fact quite the opposite.
To achieve the perfect nights sleep, avoid over stimulation of all your systems. Exercise at the right time of day for you. Have a soak in the bath, even if only for a few minutes, achieved effects breathing regulates to a slow pace, muscles become relaxed and frankly takes the weight off your feet, leaving you feeling relaxed and enjoy the rest of a good nights sleep.
