Supporting a victim of Breast cancer

It’s probably one of the biggest fears of all women. Breast Cancer. Sufferers feel their world is crumbling about them. They start to feel unattractive. It’s a natural thought process. And of course as a friend or close family member you want to help them cope; to reassure them.

So what can you do?

Of 79 women recently surveyed who had had breast cancer most just wanted to be treated normally, as if nothing was wrong. There were some who wanted reassurance and advice but overall they just didn’t want to feel abnormal.

So what can you do? Ask her if she needs assistance of any kind and if she says no then accept that just letting her know you’re there if she changes her mind. Other can’t-go-wrong support ideas supplying meals, offering to baby-sit or give rides to appointments and planning fun days out to the movies, manicures or shopping.
