Cancer - risk reducing
To help reduce the risk of obesity and diseases, such as heart disease, high blood pressure and some cancers, the Government has developed guidelines to help you follow a healthy diet. These are :
  • Enjoy your food
  • Eat variety of different foods
  • Eat the right amount to be a healthy weight
  • Eat plenty of foods rich in starch and fibre
  • Don't eat too much fat
  • Don't eat sugary foods too often
  • Look after the minerals and vitamins in your food
  • Keep within sensible limits when drinking alcohol
