Crash diets are no good
Don't crash diet. Crash diets tend not to offer a balanced nutritional lifestyle. Muscles can become mushy and your body can end up not functioning properly. The body will slow down and conserve energy by making you slow down. Remember, a good diet will leave you feeling fresh and exhilarated. So before you diet, bear in mind these basic rules:
  • Eat a variety of foods.
  • Don't rely on a diet that forces you to eat specific kinds of food such as grapefruit.
  • The body needs a variety of nutrients and no one food provides all you need for a healthy body.
  • Don't eat less than 1200 calories a day. Anything lower than this can pose a major threat to health and the heart muscle.
  • Don't eat big meals late at night. The chance of burning the calories off by bedtime is slim.
  • Make sure you eat. Don't skip meals. Missing one meal can mean you eating too much at the next meal. Get a goods night rest.
  • Go to bed at the same time every night. Avoid caffeine drinks, such as coffee and cola after 6 or 7pm.
  • Cut out the alcohol after your evening meal. It interferes with sound sleep.
  • And finally, exercise regularly and moderately.
