We are not talking here about whether you can run the four minute
mile, but simply a case of do you actually do anything that involves activity
every day. It may be walking to the shops, stretching in a morning or swimming
once a week. As you sit at your computer now, looking at this page, ask
yourself, do you feel OK. A bit of backache perhaps or a cough from those
cigarettes that are on your left or maybe a general feeling of fatigue? These
and many more symptoms are all the signs of modern living.
This site
may be able to offer you some small advice on improving your health. There are
tips on some good fitness exercises that won't take up more than 1/2 an hour a
day, and if you get the bug and want to get fit, then there are plenty of
quality and reputable branded fitness equipment available on this site for you
to look at and purchase.
Your aim The aim is to create a
healthier lifestyle for you. To help achieve this you need to build up to at
least 30 minutes moderate activity per day.
If you have any concerns
about your health, or any illness or injury, check it out with your doctor or
practice nurse before becoming more active. There are many different ways to be
more active but it's important to find activities that are safe and right for
you. If you can't manage 30 minutes a day, anything more than what you're doing
now is good, and a step in the right direction. If you can't manage 30 minutes
in one go, two 15-minute sessions are just as good. If you are doing 30 minutes
a day already, keep it up - and do more if you want to.
Remember -
anything is better than nothing! The aim of this web site, which is for
men and women - of any age whether you are an 'OK weight' or overweight, is to
help you feel good by:
Being active & eating well Being
active and eating well will help you feel - and be - more healthy and
energetic, and can give you a lot of enjoyment too. It can also help you to
keep to a healthy weight, lose weight and reduce your risk of heart disease,
high blood pressure, diabetes and other health problems.
