A stroke occurs when the blood supply to the brain is suddenly reduced or cut off. A haemorrhage within the brain tissues or a blockage of a blood-carrying artery to certain areas of the brain can be the cause of a stroke. Stroke prevention is better than trying to cure the after-effects of one. Here are a few tips to help reduce the risk of a stroke:-
- Physical exercise on a daily basis. You do not have to over-exert yourself, but a simple brisk walk is good for you.
-
Good Nutrition is essential. Be careful when shopping it can help your health no end.
- Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables. At least once every day.
- Have regular check-ups.
- Other contributing factors to a stroke include: obesity, high blood pressure, smoking and lack of exercise.
