7 Hot & Healthy Winter Drinks

14th Dec 21

One of the most popular aspects of Winter is all the festive drinks that come with it. The only downside to these drinks is that most of them are quite unhealthy because they are full of sugary syrups and creams. But there is such a thing as a healthy winter drink, and they can be really yummy.

Want to move fast? Jump to the right section below.

  1. Hot Water, Lemon & Ginger
  2. Turmeric Latte
  3. Almond Milk Hot Chocolate
  4. Spiced Coconut-Almond Milk
  5. Apple Cider
  6. Chai Tea
  7. Hot Toddy

1. Hot Water, Lemon & Ginger

Hot Water, Lemon & Ginger

Hot water and lemon is a great morning drink because of their immune-boosting properties. But in the winter, why not add a bit of ginger? Ginger also has great immune-boosting properties, but it also adds extra flavour. So this winter, why not stick the kettle on and make yourself some lemon and ginger? Plus, if you’re feeling a bit under the weather or have a sore throat, add a bit of honey to help soothe it.

2. Turmeric Latte

Turmeric Latte

Now, I know what you’re thinking, what is this yellow monstrosity? But stay with us. Like lemon and ginger, turmeric is the perfect boost for the immune system and a natural anti-inflammatory for any aches and pains. This healthy Winter drink is ideal for when you catch those winter illnesses by reducing how bad they are and easing the muscle aches that come with them.

3. Almond Milk Hot Chocolate

Hot Chocolates. We all love them, but they can be so unhealthy, so we’re here to save your hot chocolate. This winter, try making them with almond milk instead, it doesn’t make them the healthiest drink going, but it makes them healthier. And we all need a treat every now and then.

4. Spiced Coconut-Almond Milk

Spiced Coconut-Almond Milk

Want something healthy and cosy at the same time? Spiced Coconut-Almond milk is ideal for a relaxing night in, especially if it’s been warmed up. The blend of ginger and coconut adds flavour, and using almond milk makes it a healthier option than using full-fat or semi-skimmed milk. So warm it up and chase the cold away on a winter night.

5. Apple Cider

This is a perfect drink for a Christmas party or outdoors at a Christmas market. This warm, alcoholic drink is ideal for warming anyone up and is healthier than many other winter drinks. Of course, we don’t recommend drinking cup after cup, but one of these is sure to keep you warm this Winter.

6. Chai Tea

Chai Tea

Another healthy Winter drink is Chai tea. A nice, warm drink packed full of sweet spices to boost the immune system with anti-inflammatory properties. Not to mention it is perfect for settling a stomach if you’re feeling unwell. It has less caffeine than coffee, making it low in calories and all-around a healthier option. And you can add other flavours, like vanilla or even make it dairy-free and vegan with coconut milk.

7. Hot Toddy

Hot Toddy

Similar to apple cider, a hot toddy is an ideal option for aiding with sleep if you have a cold and just to keep you warm. Just pick your favourite liquor and mix it in a mug with some hot water, spice and honey and you’re all set. Again, we aren’t suggesting you drink loads as that makes this an unhealthy option, but we all need a treat from time to time, and this is one of the easiest ways to keep warm in a slightly healthier way.
